Yes, well spotted Maz. Her mobility is improving. I've had surgery myself in the past so know how tight and uncomfortable the wound feels after a few days. I think that's the stage Lilly is entering now with the post op pain starting to ease off.

Last night i put Lilly's tube run, anything washable and her cork log she used as a toilet through the dishwasher on a short programme. I then cleaned the dishwasher overnight on a cleaning programme.

This morning i finally had my dishwasher back for my own use. Just as well as the sink was piled up with dirty dishes.

I suppose I could have put my cork log through the dishwasher instead of boiling it - which took longer than I expected due to the size of it. But I was slightly nervous it might fall apart, after the hyacinth tunnels! As it was, it did go very soft while boiling and needed careful handling but has dried out now.

I don't think the dishwasher would sanitize it in case you were worried about bugs.

I've just made a start on putting Lilly's xl grosvenor together and don't like the lid. The wire part slots in but comes in two parts which wasn't shown in the photos. Similar to the xl criceti only the wire part opens up and not the whole top like the regular grosvenor and criceti 15. I didn't like the xl criceti because the lid isn't escape proof and i don't like the xl grosvenor lid for the same reason. It isn't escape proof. However, i can modify it with some diy but a hamster cage should be designed escape proof by the manufacturer. I'm not going to return it because i can't think of another 100cm barred dwarf hamster cage i could get instead.

I didn't realise that. Maybe the lids fit better than the Criceti 100 though. Assume it means the bars on top can be pushed up at the edges?

That’s a real shame, I noticed when I was looking at it none of the sellers seem to have photos that show the lid clearly.
I’m sure you can diy it to make it work though.

Delighted to see Lilly’s progress so far is all positive. Nomming away on porridge and scrambled egg is excellent as it shows her appetite is good. Glad she takes her meds ok. Fingers crossed for tomorrow’s first check up

Yes, that's what's wrong with it but easier to fix than the criceti because the lid comes in two parts.

I'm working tonight but finish early morning so i'll take some photos to show what i mean and how i'm going to sort it. It will change the way the lid opens which doesn't really matter.
Aside from that it is very easy to assemble and has a deep base. One wire top corner was slightly bent so i had to get the pliers out. (Poor quality control nowadays). Lilly is a burrower so she'll like the substrate depth.
The wire part is very short and possibly too short to attach her 9in silent runner with the attachment plates only. I should be able to sort that with thick washers if needed.

She looks so beautiful, little snowball 😍
I’m glad to hear she enjoys the sesame sticks, mine all loved those too.

Nice she is enjoying her food :)

I'll be very interested to see your photos of Lilly's new cage and how you're going to adapt it.
Lovely to see Lilly enjoying her food 💕

So good to see Lilly up and about and enjoying her food. All the best for tomorrows check up. 😊

The feisty Lilly is starting to show again and she's up more during the day.
I reckon that in a couple of days she'll get bored with the hospital cage.

That is good news :-) She'll be climbing the bin cage walls next :ROFLMAO: . I remember with Pickle I put him back in his cage after 5 days as he was going stir crazy in the hospital cage. But Lilly's hospital cage sounds a nicer size.
