That is so exciting! I am looking forward to seeing how you set it up.
I'll stick to the current set up as much as possible but won't have time till Thursday to set it up. I need to sort the lid and shelf/ramp first anyway.

I've put it together and secured the lid. Next job is to drill a hole to move the ramp and then to paint it. I'm working tonight and busy tomorrow so will get done as and when i have time. I reckon that Bernard will be in his new home Thursday or Friday.

The cage takes up less space than i thought.

I think i should have gone for the black though. I like this grey but like the black better.

It's only 20cm longer than a Hamster Heaven :-) So they're not overly massive but a good size for a hamster. It looks very nice. I don't know which colour I prefer. They both look nice.

Grey was the right choice. Rodney's little grey face is watching over Bernard and so is Henry who was a grey hamster. Not sure why i didn't see the obvious before. Must get on to HippyMotors later for some grassy decals. Funny how things evolve and rarely as planned.

Trying to make a container for his flying saucer to go on the shelf. If it glues together ok i'll plastikote it tomorrow.

So glad to work with a barred cage and so much easier for me. The wheel can go on the bars now so no fluffing around with platforms or the wheel toppling over and Bernard can burrow under the wheel.

That looks like a clever idea!

Me too Beryl does get quite creative 😍
Hmm, this didn't work out too well because i forgot that cardboard goes dark when plastikoted. I wanted it blue.

I'll find some permanent container yet that fits the purpose.

I think it looks good! Interesting. I didn't know cardboard went like that when painted.

The shelf went in tonight. I moved the ramp towards the centre so Bernard can have his hyacinth tunnel at the front which he uses a lot.

I should have used a light colour or the brown plastikote. I'll find another suitable cardboard box at Aldi tomorrow.

Bernard has moved without much fuss. He had a quick sniff around and then went to bed. His things are in there including most of his old substrate and the layout is similar. He can burrow through the whole cage if he wants to. I adapted his house to a walk through house which is something the Robos seem to like. The house and platform are a little away from the side because Robos have a habit of squeezing through narrow gaps and i don't want him to get stuck. See how it goes. No doubt he'll let me know if he's not happy with something.

What a lovely set up for little Bernard and green goes very nicely with his fur too. :)

It does look fantastic!

Thank you all. Bernard is hamstering about as per usual. He's quite chilled for a Robo.

He's never used his sandbath much so may exchange it for an enclosed one.
