Christmas trees

I love pink and sparkly I also love natural. I have both as well.

Not sure what look I am going for this year. Tempted to get a new white tree (the old one has gone a funny colour) but may stay with my 3 foot green one ...
What colour has the old one gone? :-) There are some wild coloured artificial trees these days it seems! I saw pink, purple etc. Very artistic but not very tree-like!

I love having a real Christmas tree (easy to get in the Midwest U.S. around this time), but some Christmases we travel to visit family, and then it doesn't seem worth it to purchase a tree and be gone over the week of Christmas, so I found someone giving away a fake tree, and we pull that one out during travel years! The pre-lit lights don't all work anymore, so we string it with our own lights and then add the ornaments :) I'll post a pic when we get it up.

when is Thansgiving? We don't have that in the Uk :-) Some European countries celebrate 6th December I think - which is St Nicholas day.

Our tree won't arrive until the second week in December. Although it's potted so lasts indefinitely, we still don't like having it indoors too long in dry heat so will probably have it in and decorated by the end of the second week in December. But I do put our candle bridge in the window 1st December. When advent calendars start ..............

Hamster advent calendar will be live on 1st December :-)
Happy Birthday for tomorrow as well! Your tree is beautifully decorated. Which non alcoholic fizz is it? We have usually got Fentiman's pink lemonade :-)
Yes! This Thursday- the 27th this year. My MIL's bday is the 26th, so she is also in that situation where it sometimes falls on Thanksgiving! Some people (and definitely stores) start decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving, but we hold the line in our house! No decorations for the next holiday until we're through the nearest upcoming holiday! 😆 But I'm looking forward to getting in the spirit this Saturday!

That’s why I didn’t want to get a pre-lit tree 🌲 Fair enough if someone was giving it away, but I didn’t want to buy a tree where the lights stopped working.

Yes! And they can be expensive. I started watching an "everything free" community site near me when I was looking, and usually the first person to respond to a post with a reasonable pick up time could claim something. One year there were a few trees offered up!

What a good idea - a second hand artificial Christmas tree! I hadn't thought of that :-)

I'm going to start a new thread for "show us your Christmas tree" - as last year :-) In fact I'll start it now ............... People can just add a photo to it as and when their tree goes up (and ours might be last ha ha).

It has gone a kind of off white colour and lost some of its crispness. I am going to have a look at it soon and assess whether to keep it.

Yeah there are some really vibrant coloured fake trees out there!
