Hey everyone,

One of my favourite things about hamsters is their special features. You never find two who are the same.

My boy Mylo (may he rest in peace) had a tiny little chunk missing from his ear. I assume one of his siblings took a nibble when he was a baby.

My girl Winnie is just as special. My favourite things when looking at her are her elegant little face and her dear little white chin.

What are your hammy's special features?

🤎🖤🤍🩶🧡

Lovely thread Hammie-O :-) Mylo's nibbled ear made him unique :-) I also love Winnie's little white chin! And she does have a very elegant face. All my hammies have had their own special thing or feature - different expressions and personalities. With my current two, in terms of features, Tino's I think must be his ears and his gentle expression (which belies some sneaky behaviour!).

Apologies for posting this photo again as it's been seen a few times already but it's the one that shows his ears best :-) And his gentle expression (he was also quite chilled there after fun out of cage romp and some treats).

Higgins has a really long bendy body! Which is quite endearing and fascinating. Since he was a baby he always looked really long (rather than large) and would literally bend 90 degrees going round corners!. He has an alert look and sweet personality and darts about. Behind that he hides a desire to fight ha ha. He had a good fight with my dressing gown belt when it was hanging over the edge of the playpen.

Here he is in the pet carrier when he was a baby. And going round a corner in his cage.

Socks has always been a very polite hamster with a charming but slightly timid nature. He has always been very sweet about taking bits of food and stowing them away neatly and coming back for the next piece. Also polite about meerkatting when he wants out of cage time. He has an independent streak, but is a soft natured hamster at the same time. A bit soppy really 🥰

Aw that's lovely - he does look gentle and polite there. And polite meerkatting sounds adorable!

Aww Tino's ears are very characterful, and what a sweet little nose ❤️

Higgin's bendy body is cool, I've never seen such a flexible hammy before.

Awww what a lovely personality 🧦 does he have a favourite treat?

I love it when they meerkat. It makes my heart melt :)

Blossom is also the most vocal hamster I have had! She squeaks at me if I’m late with her tea, or she’s searching through her stash and can’t find what she’s looking for. The other morning she squeaked at me because I turned the light on and woke her up! She’s such a diva, and a bit of a drama queen 🌸👑🎭

I have never had a really vocal hamster :-) I think I'm missing something. Tino has been the tiniest bit vocal on occasion. Once when I woke him up. Although if you remember he was extremely vocal when he first came to me and squawked like an angry chicken constantly!

Oh wow that's super cute! How nice to be able to calm her down 🌸

Winnie squeaks sometimes, mostly during playtime when she's trotting around. I only heard my previous boy Mylo squeak once when got a bit frightened. Poor lil fella 🧡
