Hamster cage chewing

The house side where her nest are she climbs on top and chews the holes above it it’s not really fixable to make the bedding shorter because that would be unfair for her to not have any digging space. I’ve tried interacting with her to see if that’s what she wants and gave some more chews but she just brings them to her nest and goes back to chewing on the cage. I’m going to skip clean out this week and leave it for two weeks to see if that helps.
I’ve ordered some sprays for overhead clutter and for her to eat so hopefully
that helps

I sort of guessed it might be the house end. It's a convenient platform to stand on and chew! I had one idea. Rather than making the bedding lower, you could make the house higher perhaps?

ie if it was on longer legs then the house itself could block the vents at that side. There'd still be enough ventilation as wood breathes and there are vents at the other side and on top. Although then you'd either have a gap under the house or have to have even deeper bedding at that end, to fill the gap. But I bet she'd stop bothering if something was in front of it and she had some nice sprays, as you mentioned.

Or - you could put another identical house on top of the current house :-) So the house stays where it is - at substrate level - but is taller, with the top part not being used and too high to get onto. You might need to move or remove the little platform that's next to it so she can't get up there.
