Hello again! I have found that the mice at PetSmart are much cheaper than the hamsters. (The hamsters are 23 USD the mice are much cheaper at about 8 USD) There is one mouse left. They are fancy mice. (most commonly used as prey or feed for snakes and other reptiles.)

Thank you, and signing out, i-i-it's Hamsterluvr63!

There were a few baby mice but now there's only one left and she's tiny, malnourished and shy. I'm hoping that I can get her to trust me enough to actually engage with other people. (P.S. She is from PetSmart)

Did you get her then? It might be better for her to get used to you first, before your friends or it could be a bit overwhelming :-)

I haven't gotten her yet but I was planning to get her to used to me before I showed her to my siblings and friends

Just found out she was not the last one she was the second to last there is one more lil one.

Are you going to get her? :-)

Ok I have just remembered about mice. Unlike hamsters, mice are actually much better kept in pairs or groups and a single mouse could be unhappy without a cage mate. So if you are thinking of mice rather than hamsters it would be much better to at least get a pair. It wouldn't really be fair on a single mouse. It's the opposite with hamsters - they are much better (and safer) living alone and bonding with a human owner.

Yeah ik but my brothers are getting a mouse as well so we will let them be together in a playpen. Also the mice live together in a cage at PetSmart. They will get an hour and 30 minutes together in the playpen.

It would be better if they lived in the same cage :-) So they could have a normal routine together. You and your brother could still own one each.

It is so nice to see you taking advice and keeping us updated about your pet plans. Hope you and your brother enjoy your mice once you get them.

Mine seemed to really love climbing the bars and cuddling into houses together with lots of soft paper bedding. They were pretty speedy so I didnt really handle them much, although people do.

They loved foraging for food and also enjoyed burrowing in their bedding and climbing up onto shelves. They had to have water bottles as they soon filled their water bowls with bedding and often buried them!
