Any major care differences between male/female Syrians?

It's the chewing that can drive you crazy. Night time is their day really and most active time, so she's bound to make a noise at night and if she knows you're in the room may be trying to get attention :-) So is it just overnight it's an issue?

Asking here since this thread has my ham's history. I haven't seen her for like 2 or 3 weeks. I knew she was alive because she was still eating the stuff i put out but her activity is way down. I haven't woken to her making noise at all. Last night I had enough. I had to find her and clean her burrow since she doesn't pee anywhere else. She was teeth chattering and mad as I slowly cleaned around the time I am used to her waking up. Instead of a sick hammy, she looks perfectly fine. Should I be concerned about her at all? Or is this a sign that she's finally calmed down or settled in? Could also be an old age thing - she'd be about a year and 4 months old.

Update! She came out last night around 7pm, acting totally normal, hungry and friendly. 🤷‍♀️ It's the first time she's done that in weeks.

So sorry your earlier post got missed 😊. Glad she is fine 😍. It may be hear making her be more reclusive - conserving energy perhaps.
