So lovely to see him enjoying it so much always feels good when you can give them something that gives them so much pleasure

Bernard always climbs on my hand to get his linseeds. Tonight he stayed on it for ages listening to the racket around him. Cedric was chewing bars because he wanted out and my OH was listenening to an opera singer. Bernard's little ears kept twitching which was so cute to watch.

That is so sweet! Little Bernard has built up such a beautiful bond with you. Maybe he is a fan of opera too.

I have heard hamsters enjoy classical music, there might be something to that

I'm looking into upgrading Bernard's Kerry to an XL Grosvenor so he can have a flying saucer and more space. It gets a bit cold downstairs in the winter so i prefer an enclosed cage like a tank but i'm planning on adding acrylic panels. Need to measure first and source perspex sheets, probably from Ikea.

He'll enjoy that. I didn't know Ikea sold perspex sheets. Assume that works out a cheaper option which is good. Do they need cutting to size much?

I'm currently at work so haven't figured it out yet. Decided while eating my omelette roll earlier.
People who built Linmons get acrylic panels from Ikea i think and i know people who have those so can ask.
I should be able to add the panels at a later date from the outside so they aren't essential at the moment.

I think if it's at one end, things like grass mats are fine. I don't use those because they set off my allergies!

That's what i used when Henry and then Rodney lived in an Alaska in the place Bernard is now.

The Maxi Duna could be another option but i've just missed the last one at Porton Aquatics, grrr. The next delivery will be regular price which is more than i'd be willing to pay for a hamster cage.

Got this wrong. It's glass panels people use for Linmons not perspex.

I found a company in my area that supplies and cuts perspex according to their website. Need to check that out.

Off to have a look at Wickes and B&Q now to see what perspex panels they have.

The new prices for Maxi duna's now are absolutely ridiculous. Amazon are charging over £200 and there's a place on ebay selling them for over £400! I'm guessing it's an import/brexit thing.

Have you thought about a Zoozone? Jollye's sell them for about £80. It's virtually the same cage but the lid needs meshing. I think that's what Riven has for her Robo.

Porton Aquatics sells the Maxi Duna for £149.99 and had them on offer for £119.99.

I don't like the shape of the Zoozone 2 much and could pick one up for £30 second hand. There are a lot of cages for sale here in the South.

I saw a Maxi Duna for £60 and could get the XL Grosvenor for nearly the same price new but would need panels.

I'm undecided which cage to go for. They are both good cages for a Robo and both have pros and cons.
