I posted this on a different site and people were very concerned. Just wanted to check here where there are more knowledgeable owners. Is this something to be concerned about?

I discovered that if I open the front of his enclosure (bucatstate) but leave the door out flat he will walk on it (but not go off the edges). I’m always very careful doing this. He is ridiculously cute from underneath (those little toes!) so I was taking pictures and noticed one of his testicles looked very strange.

I know their testicles can be quite unusual looking, but his are very small apart from this.

He gets very stressed out with handling so I only do it occasionally for less than a minute, and once a week to weigh him. I want to avoid going to the vet unnecessarily, but can take him if needed (and I have access to an amazing exotics vet).IMG_1381.webp

Just remembered I have pictures from a week or so ago. No flash (I only put the flash on today when I noticed the weird thing) so it’s harder to see but it’s definitely still there.

Hello. I don't think it's abnormal :-) Sometimes one of their testicles pops out like that - often when they are particularly warm or relaxed. Sometimes people think it's a tumour :-) The way to tell is - if it has disappeared again - if it's disappeared again then it's normal. Usually their little pink lumps of testicle are covered by fur and not that noticeable, but certain times, the testicle protrudes like that. It does look like quite a small protrusion - sometimes they can be quite large. But if it's gone back again I'd say it was normal. Have another look now :-)

As an example - this is our first hamster Charlie sitting on his "cushions" :-)
