Eddie - Thanks buddy but not sure I will return the favour!

The hot weather brought Eddie out of his house and sleeping on the sand seems to have helped to keep his scent gland cleaner.

He's also become more interactive and has just been out for a little free roam.
He asks to come out by climbing out of his cage and when he wants home he comes back to me and tries to climb on my lap.

He's gone back in his house now so the heatwave must be coming to an end.

Eddie sounds absolutely adorable. Almost like a toddler :-)

Lovely to see you Eddie 😍

Glad to hear his scent gland is better, hope it cools down a bit there, it has here this morning.

I think it is coming to an end. Yesterday there was a cooler breeze here despite all the sun. There's a weather warning for tomorrow for thunderstorms. I hope it's not one extreme to the other!

It's always lovely to see little Eddie. Glad his scent glad is looking better.

I've cleaned Eddie's cage today and put his tubes through the dishwasher while he slept in a spare cage.

He doesn't burrow and feels the heat so i've opened the whole place up a bit. I split the long tube into two with a degu shelf in the middle which he seems to like as he's resting inside one.

The area under the big shelf was meant to be a digging area with the house submerged into the substrate. It was untouched!

I exchanged the big shelf for a smaller one and placed a flying saucer in this corner.

He's only ever used the side door of his house but now the front door is no longer submerged into the substrate which should make the inside of his house more comfortable in the heat.

He's still asleep in a tube which is fine by me because the tubes are short.

I'm aware that people may think that Eddie should have deeper substrate.

It looks very nice for him - lots of things to do and places to go. I hope the shorter tubes with the shelf works out well. He has a lovely big sand bath.

The sandbath is now lying on the flat side with a little hemp mat on top. Done the same with Clive's so he can step on it when coming down from a shelf.

It looks really nice to me too, well thought out to suit Eddie’s needs & likes, I’m sure he’ll approve.

I watched Eddie try out the saucer last night. He carried his whimzee from the front to the back shelf and just now he's inside the tube nibbling.

He really does like his tube doesn’t he, looks very happy nibbling away in there & enjoying his whimzee.

I always feel Eddie has very nice table manners. He nibbles like a true gentleman.

That looks like a nice cool place to sit!
