It is a strange little habit of his but he does look comfortable like that somehow.

Maybe Eddie would like a Chaise Lounge Day Bed to lay on his side and eat 🤔

You don't have one in your house by any chance? Maybe Eddie could buy it off Albert.

I tried a cool tile leaning against one side in the sand area thinking that Eddie may be hot.
Nope, he sniffed it, looked annoyed, left his sand and went down a tunnel.

I've never had any luck with chilled mugs or hides. Chilled watermelon is what they want.

Chilled sand and hides were not approved by Sprite either.

That's so funny, Henry absolutely loves his cooler sand. If we're not careful, all the dwarf hamsters are going to come at us with a new fad they all agree on

I sat on the floor watching Eddie run around when i saw a huge spider next to me.

I had a spider phobia as a child but travelling in Asia fixed that. Now and again it still catches me out so i jumped up to get the dustpan and brush.
Of course the spider legged it and so did Eddie.
I couldn't see the spider or Eddie so called him.
Poor little Eddie started to climb out of a shoe where he had been hiding.

I'm sure he wasn't scared of the spider but hid from that madwoman waving a brush about.

Eddie: is it safe to come out? 🐹

Otto: now you know how I felt earlier when you was banging about 🐹

Eddie is a bit more lively now and enjoys more out of cage time as well. He still won't use his wheel or the ones in the freeroaming areas. He stopped wheeling before the frantic bar chewing in his Hamster Heaven started.

Glad to hear Eddie’s livened up a bit, he must be relieved the heat is over.
He looks happy & content in the video 😍

He looks well there and enjoying the sprays :-) I wonder why he's not wheeling - maybe lethargy? Or discomfort?

I have no idea why he is not wheeling. Lethargy caused by diabetes or a "can't be bothered" way of thinking could be the reason. He has always been a lazy boy but used to run on his wheel in the evening. He also used to run in the playground wheels.

His main motivator is food and he does a bit of weight lifting by carrying his whimzee about.
He's fully mobile, able to run and doesn't show any signs of discomfort or pain.

I remember him wheeling :) It may well be lethargy as most hamsters wheel regardless. At least he’s not peeing on his wheel then!

Eddie has always spent a lot of his time in his sand jar which now sits in a big sand box.
When he's out of his cage he sits in the big communal sand bath and when he's in the dig box he sits in the sand toilet.
