Elmers carpenter’s wood glue

Just wondering if this safe?
I have pva white glue but I need to glue a dowel onto wood to cover gamps and I’m worried the glue might not be strong enough.
I know you guys recommend ponal glue but it won’t be delivered for another couple of weeks so wondered if the Elmer’s wood glue would be safe to use instead as that’s easier to get hold of

Does anybody know if this is hamster safe? It is cheaper then Ponal and has a quicker shipping time. I thought this may be something we could all use when we need to make things such as platforms...
