Our village fireworks are on tonight 🎆 Blossom had a slightly early tea and is tucked up in her nest, with the curtains closed and the radio turned up to drown out the noise 👍 As for me, I’m off to enjoy the fireworks 🎆😄

Enjoy! Yes, Socks doesn't seem concerned by fireworks. He has his routine and sleeps through them as far as I can see. One of the gin gins seems unconcerned, but Polo gets very nervous. However talking and singing softly seems to reassure him. Some sort of noise cancelling technology for pets could be a good way of helping. The radio is a good tip. There is that nice Classic FM show that uses classical music to soothe pets on fireworks nights.

That's a good tip. We don't get many round here thankfully.

Yes, I have classic fm on. The pet classics program is on tomorrow evening, and again on 5 November. Blossom seems rather unconcerned, but I’d rather take precautions. My dog was never too keen on fireworks (although he varied in how bothered he would be), so I’m used to the whole firework routine with pets. Our fireworks were lovely btw 😁

Fireworks are illegal where I live :’) only allowed if it’s an event by the town but has to be away from housing areas I believe for safety of animals ears ♥️

I hope you had a great time!!

Where do you live? It would be much better if fireworks were confined to just organised displays.

I think they are only supposed to be organised displays in the Uk as well aren’t they? But it’s probably not illegal for someone to set them off in their own garden. I remember a time when there were terrible injuries every year, when I was a child, and there was a TV programme about all the children who had been maimed. My Father decided from then we wouldn’t have them at home any more and would only go to an organised display.

The local firework display in our area was last night (didn't hear a thing as it's 7 miles away ha ha). But I expect there will be others over this week-end and on the 5th as well.

Has anyone had any problems? I think it can affect dogs badly as well.

Anyone can let fireworks off, although I think there is a time curfew for them ending at 11 pm, except on New Year's Eve. I've only ever been to organised displays. When I was little my dad was in the Round,Table who organised the fireworks where we lived. All the kids associated with Round Table were allowed to sit on a trailer so we got a great view of the fireworks 🎆

In Ireland! In Ireland we aren’t allowed to put off fireworks anywhere. Sometimes people go to Northern Ireland as it’s part of UK to get them and do it illegally, but it is legal only if there is a show. Once there was an event where I went to and it was like a firework showcase but it is an event.

I didn’t know that! I wish it were only organised displays in the UK 🇬🇧

That sounds very sensible.
