I've just seen this, which looks like a really nice idea for someone setting up from scratch with a hamster. While it says it includes substrates, it's talking about additional substrates - I don't think it means the bulk of the substrate needed for a cage! But it also includes chews, a slate for keeping nails trim and enrichment generally. £40 isn't cheap but it seems good value, as an equivalent starter box of similar items would cost a lot more from Rodipet for example. On the other hand it would be nice if it included something like a cork log and a water bowl as well
I've emailed them and suggested that. That there could be two starter boxes. This basic one, and a bigger one that includes a hamster safe water bowl, a few sprays, and maybe a cork log as well. So people who already have some things could go for the basic one, and people starting from scratch might like the more comprehensive one.
