Hamster training and learning tricks is something I'd like to look into more. My vet said you can do clicker training, like you do with dogs. On that note, these are some of my favourite hamster videos on the topic!

Hamster Parcours/agility course

The person who made the video explains how it was done "TO LEARN IT: I started with just small obstacles, pulling with a seed and giving it once it happened. Then a sequence by framing can be done (by kinds of walls on the sides) and putting the seed after. And when he understood more need walls, you can do the same with other stuff (rocker, tunnel) and vary the shapes of the course (straight line, rectangle, circle ...). But all the hamsters are not able and do not want, to do that !!
For equipment that is simple: playmobil barriers and PQ or paper towel roll is perfect for the rest it was my father who made for me"

This one is amazing!

And this one is the best - a Chinese hamster

These are amazing. I love the grey hamster in the first video!

Has anyone actually tried training a hamster? Other than hand taming. It's something I've intended to try (my vet suggested clicker training) but never got round to ................

I'm always suspicious of youtube videos but i'm a suspicius person by nature.

The questions i ask myself are:
How long did it take to make these videos?
Did the hamster participate willingly?
How much editing was involved to create these videos?

Agree. I think the first one actually explains it was made in a few takes. Some people do train hamsters to do tricks though :) .
