Happy 1st Anniversary! 🥳 🥳🥳🐹

This time last year, the forum was born. And there were just 3 or 4 members initially. By Christmas there were 50. Those three or four members were brilliant, posting a lot to help get the forum going and keep it active. So a special thanks to RainbowBrite, Zara, Riven, and Coco and a special thanks to everyone else, for making the forum what it is today.

Of course we all love hamsters! That’s why we’re here. Nobody understands hamster owners like other hamster owners 😊.

As a mini celebration of our 1st birthday/anniversary, below are some of the highlights of the last year.

RainbowBrite’s hamster boredom breakers – sticking seeds onto cardboard with buckwheat flour glue. Tubes, lollipops and all kinds of boredom breakers. Our boredom breaker Queen!

The forum Section with the most posts of the year (not including games) is the Syrian Hamsters section – with 5,200 posts. Closely followed by the Russian Dwarf Hamsters section – with 4,900 posts.


All the hamsters on the forum, past and present are hugely memorable. But perhaps the most memorable was four year old Zak (RIP), Elusive’s Chinese boy, who lived to such a grand age.

Every single hamster on this forum is adorable and for those who haven’t had a mention or a photo – there will be this year’s advent calendar coming up soon …………..

We had a celebration of Spring when the forum changed colour to have this photo as a background (a licence from photographer Julian Rad to use this photo on the forum page).

To celebrate our anniversary, a donation has been made to Happy Hamsters Uk Hamster Rescue for all the amazing work they do rescuing and rehoming hamsters throughout the Uk.

Happy first anniversary!
The forum does look very festive & it’s lovely to look back & see some highlights of the year.
It’s been an amazing first year & I’m looking forward to many more to come.
 
Aww, this made me feel emotional. Happy anniversary to a wonderful forum. I have learned such a lot from being on here. It is such a friendly place and everybody really cares and wants the best for hamsters. I am so happy to be a part of it.

To you Maz, for all the hard work setting it up in the first place and for all your ongoing hard work in keeping things going both technically and in so many other ways.
To those of you who helped give the forum a boost when starting up and also with ongoing welcome and advice for those who join.
And finally but by no means least, to the wonderful and cute little hammies without whom none of this would be possible.
Here is to the next year and many more to follow 🐹💐🎂

Yay! Happy Anniversary! I know we found the forum sometime around last December when we got our first hamster (RIP Wally....you would have given Cinnamon's fluff a run for its money). At the time, I didn't realize immediately how new it was! It soon became our favorite place to read and post because of how informative and social it is.

Cheers to all our members and to Maz and the founding members for getting The Hamster Forum going!

Happy 1st Anniversary Hamster Forum!

A huge thank you to Maz for all the behind the scenes work that is carried out as well as keeping the forum super uptodate with all the latest info and to all the members for their input and supporting each other.

I’ve laughed at so many different hamster stories, smiled at all of our adorable Hamster photos/videos (plus other pets) and shed tears over our beloved friends who have passed over to the rainbow bridge. I’m so very happy to be a part of the forum and look forward to reading more crazy hamster antics very soon 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Thank you for such a great place to share and find out such good information. This place makes a difference. Of course thank you for all the wonderful hamster pictures and exciting adventures 😃
 
I’m going to leave the bunting up until tomorrow - in case some people in different time zones come on overnight or some people missed it today :-)

Belated anniversary wishes congratulations on the success of this forum as it grows from strength to strength it's a lovely place to be with other hamster loving people I loved all of the photos a lot of work obviously goes into this so also a massive thanks to all the admin and researchers that help us with information
