I think we can only guess our hamsters birthdays but it does not really matter. It is lovely to celebrate Raffy's special day. He looked very happy with his presents.

That is absolutely adorable, he really liked that "ice cream" cone! Raffy just kept coming back to it for more 
I wouldn't worry about the exact date, gave it your best guess and he had some amazing treats to celebrate with. It's the memories and fun that counts, plus he still looks very inquisitive for his age

Thanks Hank and ilguy Yes he's always curious. To the point of being really rather nosey! He has his nose in anything and checks out any change in the room thoroughly! And likes to know what is going on.

Although actually it's usually me he glares at if I'm talking to another hamster. My thinking is that the competition will keep him sprightly in his old age and he can enjoy wheel running races again
The last time I had two male Syrians at the same time, their cages were stacked - one above the other (two tier stand) and they kind of went into a sort of synchronisation, which was interesting. Both come out at the same time, both drink at the same time etc.
This time the cages are on the same level with enough distance that they are not too close together but I know from previous hamsters, that they are aware of each other.
