i'm a new hamster owner and I just adopted my little hammy two days ago. i'm still learning how to take the best care of him, so i would really appreciate your advice and experience. glad to meet u all!!😇

Hello and welcome :-) He's a lovely hammy :-) He is probably still a baby by the look of it. Feel free to ask any questions. It does look like his cage or enclosure might be a bit on the small side for him, but it's hard to tell from the photo. One of the best things you can give him is deeper bedding and paper bedding rather than wood shavings. You can fill the base at a minimum but more is better :-) The more bedding you have, the less often you need to do a clean out, which is better for hammy as regular full clean outs really stress them out and stress can lead to behavioural or health issues.

With more bedding you just "spot clean" the pee area and the rest of the cage stays clean and dry for a long time :-) I've added our cage cleaning tips guide below.
