I wouldn't use it personally. Technically it's just paper pellets but some owners had issues with hamsters chewing/eating the pellets and one died. Whether that was the pellets or not it's unknown but it is not widely used.

I think it would be better to get something like kaytee clean and cosy or Fitch.
