Meet our Allie

This is Allie. She is a Syrian Hamster. We love to keep her happy. She enjoys burrowing and munching her stick treats. Allie is our first hamster. We want to make sure we are provide the utmost care we possibly could. Welcome any suggestions on enrichments. Her enclosure is 1152 sq in. She has 3 hideouts, coco peat, sand bath, 10in wheel, 2 tunnels, 1 wooden hideout with 2 compartments we made ourselves at home, water dish and a water bottle. Bedding is made out shredded soft napkins (9 in). We also mixed the bedding with a layer of wood shavings (filtered) to hold her burrows.

Hello . She’s gorgeous - and sounds to have a lovely home. If mixing paper bedding with wood shavings, just check the packet of wood shavings to see that it’s “pine” and not “softwood” and that they are kiln dried and dust extracted. It might be an idea to gradually change over to all paper bedding but no rush. Kaytee clean and cozy and Fitch bedding are popular .

We adopted her on New Year’s Eve They told us she was 4-6 weeks old. But they were not really sure.
