Finally got a cage that meets the minimum size requirements for a hamster(pets at home habitat 3). There is a nite angel six chamber box under the shelf. Let me know what you think and would change.

He has loads of room there 😊. I think the main thing at the moment is a change of cage might throw him a bit for a couple of weeks and he might be a bit stressed for a few days. On the other hand it might shock him out of doing circuits 😊. He’ll have lots to explore.

I can’t see the photo that well as on my phone at the moment - but maybe add some sprays? The Rosewood pick n fly ones on Amazon are quite inexpensive.

My only thought about having the niteangel house under the shelf is it wouldn’t be easily accessible for cleaning out. On the other hand it means the roof can’t be pushed up! Which could be a good thing. I’d leave everything as it is now for at least a couple of weeks until he’s adjusted to the change 😊

It is so frustrating, I know, when you’ve spent money on a cage and then had to get another one to upgrade to. Same thing happened to me with our first hamster. Your old cafe could be good to keep as a spare though or play cage, in case you need to do a full clean out at some point. Or it could be good as a hospital cage if ever needed. If you have space to store it.

Can he get up to the wood platform ok?
