im looking for new things to give to ham that won't replace his food. I currently give him meal worms (also mixed into his main food mix) and sweet corn. I am looking for new suggestions
I wouldn't give sweetcorn personally - as it's a bit sweet Healthy treats that dwarf hamsters tend to like are pine nuts, pumpkin seeds in their shells (they crack the shells open which keeps them busy. Occasionally sunflower seeds but not too often as they are quite fattening. Plus a tiny piece of fresh veg each day (ideally no bigger than their ear). Cucumber, broccoli, carrot, peas are all favourites here. No fruit or sugary things due to the predisposition to diabetes.

Also dwarf hamsters love sprays like flax or millet and love nibbling at them. A cheap selection is the Rosewood pick and fly mix linked below.
By the way it's a good idea to freeze all hamster food, treats and sprays for a week first as it kills any moth eggs or tiny mites (which aren't always visible) so they don't hatch out.
