Below is the list of the official Uk hamster breeders. To be an official breeder, they need to be registered with the National Hamster Council. There are three Hamster Clubs which form part of the National Hamster Council. The Northern Club, Midlands Club and Southern Club. They each have their own pages listing the breeders in their area. Not all the breeders will be currently active all of the time, so it's a case of contacting them individually to see if or when they will have any litters.

There are often people on various pet selling sites who call themselves breeders or hobby breeders but if they're not part of one of the official clubs then they may not be a good source for obtaining a hamster. And the breeding practices may not be good or the genetics good. A pedigree hamster will come with a pedigree certificate showing their breeding ancestry.

The southern website isn’t working anymore, wondering if anyone knows any breeders in Hertfordshire, UK?

Hi. Yes I need to update those links - thank you for reminding me! The southern Hamster Club merged with the Midlands one and is now called the Midlands and Soutern Hamster club. The link is here :-)

This is the link from that page that lists the breeders. There aren't that many. The nearest to you is Tuftyfluffs in London. She has a Facebook page - I'm not sure if she is still breeding, but she's still listed. You tend to find they do have long waiting lists though! Some people travel to get a Hamster from an NHC breeder. If you're prepared to travel I'd try contact Tristar breeders in Bath - they breed a number of species and I think may be more likely to have some available.
