Thank you. I've lurked on this forum for a while and read lots of valuable advice. And I've loved reading about all the hammies. He was our first hamster (we had gerbils previously) and he lived to 2 years 9 months. Sadly he had started to decline rapidly so he had to be helped along today. The hardest decision I've ever had to make. But I know it was the right one for him. Thank you for running this lovely caring community x

It's incredibly hard isn't it, but done out of love and care. He lived to a grand age and was lucky to have a wonderful home. In time you start to remember the happy times and joy rather than the end x
