Pip the Robo

That’s a real shame, could they have been left in an odd place, that happens to me sometimes. Hope you can track them down.

Did quite a bit of hunting outside in case they had been left in an odd place, but no sign of them. It was a royal mail delivery and they know us and where to put things, and other things arrived the same day. I've chased it up saying it says delivered but no sign of it.

Anyway I decided to just use some 30cm dowels I have. I thought they would need to be longer for some things (extra to attach to the side of the house) but found a way round that (I think!)

How strange. Could somebody have stolen the parcel? I hope they turn up eventually.

Thank you. I did wonder that! But I doubt it. They are left outside. It's possible it's been delivered to the wrong address.

Thank you Rainbow. I'm working with what I've got at the moment :) It just means that there is only about 2" glued to the front of the house instead of the full house height but that should be enough to hold the dowels in place.

Ebay asked me to give them feedback for the plastikote i ordered. I haven't received it yet. I think its Royal Mail that's at fault. I've had parcels and letters gone missing a few times.
I'd contact HHT with a photo and see what they suggest then pick the best option.

What is HHT?

I think you're right, it's royal mail. Things sent by courier get here quicker.

Oh you mean for the second cork log? That arrived yesterday. It's the dowels that have gone missing (Amazon market place seller). But yes I will contact them re the options - refund or replacement etc.

Anyway I haven't seen Pip recently. Which means he must be in normal mode lol. His veg is gone each day so I know he's ok. The hamstercam is on Raffy's cage at the moment.

The Getzoo shelves are a slight pain. The idea is good - with holes for the legs to sit in and some glue to secure them. Except the legs won’t fit in the holes! The holes are smaller than the dowels. On one shelf I just about managed to get the legs in but then they don’t go right in (because it’s too tight) so you can’t actually glue them in as there’s be a gap between the glue and the top of the leg. The other shelf, the legs won’t fit in at all.

This is annoying! I think it will mean a lot of sanding.
I’m wishing I’d got the Happy Henry ones now! Very easy to put together and everything fits.

What a shame. I know sometimes we order what will come quicker as smaller businesses can take longer to dispatch items. Is it possible to return the Getzoo shelves and get a refund?

That is a shame, I’ve had a similar thing with something I got from Rodipet once, they obviously don’t check them to make sure everything fits which is bad as they’re not cheap.
It’s not the easiest thing to sand either.
It would be worth having a go at getting a refund if you can.

I already started sanding them but I wish I’d just sent them back now. Pine is easy to sand. Hardwood isn’t. My wrists and hands hurt now and it’s put me in a bad mood. It would have been easier to make one myself! But I didn’t want the extra diy and time.

Rainbow I’ve had platforms from them before without any issues. This is a new leg design.

The Happy Henry homes ones wouldn’t have worked with the curved cage base - I’d have had to re-sited three of the legs and glued them on. And then had theee holes on top of the platform where the legs should have been.

In theory the Getzoo ones were the better option for cage placement. Clearly their quality control is lacking with these though. My last getzoo platform was perfect.

Anyway I glued dowels to the house and small shelter earlier which was quick and easy. And now I have aching wrists with all the sanding and will leave things for a day or two. It has been a total PITA!

So a broken cork log, a ceramic thing with a sharp bit and now this platform palaver. I prefer setting up barred cages!

I’m really sorry it’s turned out to be such a pain, maybe take a break & see what you can do tomorrow.
Hopefully you can still make things work in a way that you’re happy with.
