Preparations for my new dwarf hamster. Probably a roborovski.

Looking good. Can't wait to see the new addition. The niteangel wheels are . Most women spend a fortune on shoes and handbags, me it's hamster wheels.

I have never spent a fortune on handbags Shoes are expensive! But yes hamster stuff is addictive!

Here is the set up so far. Got more sand on the way and sprays oh and a few bits to chew on.

I expect they will be in touch next week sometime. I still check every 4 seconds though!!!

They have been in touch thanking me for the photos and want to arrange a video call. I gave them some days when I am free so now for more waiting ...

A bit frustrating! Having to wait. It's like that with rescues sometimes - they are very busy. I'd just want to go and collect NOW ha ha. Rescues sometimes have specific criteria so they might suggest some tweaks to the set up or something. Last time I had a rescue I had a list of things I had to have in the cage! Sprays was one of them. Your cage looks fine - a big sand area and a deep bedding end.

I have some sprays all ready to put in and a few more bendy bridges, etc.

The hamster fosterer is going to video call me next Tuesday (she is ill atm). Usually I would be hugely impatient but this time I feel quite glad to be taking it slowly.

I have really enjoyed getting the cage ready and will be ordering some moss very soon!

Vetsend will be sending the hamster food but meanwhile I have ordered some from viovet.

I had the video home check today and I have been approved to adopt a hamster!!!

I have fallen in love with her already. She is a little grey cross breed winter white and campbells I guess.

She is so pretty and I have wanted a grey teeny hamster for sometime.

I have some pics from the website (Bristol rabbit rescue). They seen like a lovely organisation.

She will take food from her foster mum's hand which is rather wonderful.

Oh she is gorgeous, you must be so excited she will be with you soon.

I really am Steve.

I had such a nice long chat to her foster mum and she showed me her lovely set up. I want to take some of her tunnels, loads of her bedding and her house and exchange them for brand new ones for the rescue to give to the next hamster.

That's a lovely idea, less change for the little hammy, and gives the rescue some nice new items for the next time the need them.

She’s absolutely adorable and looks happy and friendly - you must be very happy . Some female dwarf hamsters are great at sitting on your hand
