Preparing for a hamster

An exciting update and a turn of events! We contacted a hamster rescue a few weeks ago to enquire about adopting a hamster. The person from the rescue contacted us last night and asked if we would like a male or female hamster. When we said we would like a male, she said she has a male dwarfie. We said we would love to have him. She said we need to send pictures of the set up and then she will be in touch.

Today I set up the cage and we sent the pictures. The rescue said they are very happy with the set up and we are making arrangements to collect the hamster. It looks like it may be Saturday. :)

So, hopefully we will be adopting a little dwarfie very soon. :)

Of course i had dwarf Clarissa who got her head stuck in a small hole so i cover them up now.
Aside from that it is a lovely set up. You know yourself how a hamster lets us know what works for them and what doesn't.

It looks amazing! I was also wondering about the small hole at the top, at the side of the "watch box" ladder - but I'm guessing that is up against the perspex side is it? So a hamster couldn't actually get their head through. But Is there one at the other side opposite as well? You could just stick something over that hole on the inside.

Now you just need a hamster to come along and mess it all up :ROFLMAO:

It is against the perspex. I had no idea it could be dangerous. I better remove it then.

Thank you all.

There are no holes on the other side. Pity the watchbox came with such small holes along with more bigger and suitable ones!

You don't need to remove it :-) The hole on the perspex side will be blocked by the perspex side. If there is a corresponding hole on the opposite side, then glueing something over it or blocking it off somehow would do the trick. It's only reall that top small hole.
