OH found him about 2am. There is a separate strip of carpet behind a small sofa that gets ruckled when the sofa has been moved. It’s not visible as the ruckled bit is between the sofa and the cupboard Raffy’s cage is on and at the back. Must have been like that since Christmas when things were moved around. So it made a kind of tunnel hide. Everywhere else had been looked at so OH shone a torch under there and Raffy was sitting there and started to crawl out when the torch was shining in there. OH said he wasn’t asleep!
Before the vet came he would disappear off, come back to the middle of the room or the barrier looking for me. I could usually see him running or sitting somewhere if I looked.
Naughty boy.
Yes Lovelyness, they are very sensitive to changes in the environment. He was on his familiar floor and the vet picked him up and held him still while she examined him. A stranger came in his house and manhandled him and I let them!
It might have been similar if he’d been taken to a vet practice but then they usually hide away in the cage and don’t want to come out.
