Second chance hamsters

Toby is becoming quite territorial. He was sitting in his tube yesterday so i decided to spot clean his pee corner. I think that i took too long for his liking. After a while he came out of his tube and screeched at me!

I think that he is quite settled and happy enough with his lot until something better comes along.
I have advertised him now for adoption but rehoming is very slow.
OH couldn't sleep last night, got up at 04.00 and went next door to watch Toby. He is definitely the most active hamster.

Strangely enough, Toby doesn't like to go back in the tube to go back home. He walks in to get seeds but as soon as i lift it upright he reverses back out and ends up with his bum sticking out of the tube and then he turns around and tries to climb out. Last night i ended up carrying him in my cupped hands and he was fine with that. He was ready to go home alright because he had stopped running and playing and was jumping up the wall looking for a way out/home.

That is interesting. He likes the tube but so long as it is not used as a taxi. It is wonderful you can carry him in your hands. Look how far he has come from the timid little hamster who arrived. :)

I just popped Toby on the scales. He's 50g which is a good weight for a medium sized dwarf. He was out in the playground again and i scooped him up in my hands. I found a way to carry him back to his cage that works for both of us. I carry him inside my top, roll it up like a pouch with Toby in it. He's fine with that.
