Has anyone had any luck using a bonding pouch with hamsters (syrian)?

My little guy is so skittish. I go and talk to him every day and he's taken a treat a couple of times, but still won't be coaxed out of hiding. He's a little better when I can get him into the playpen, but it's just so hard to do that. He's only 10 weeks old at this point, if that matters. I've had him for 3 weeks.

I think hamsters are possibly too small and restless for a bonding pouch. Very few enjoy sitting still for any length of time unless they are safely in their nest. Using the playpen is the best option, but as you say, it can be tricky to coax the little fellow out ❤

Putting a treat into a mug and then using the mug as a taxi to take him to the playpen might work. It can be tricky to work out when hammy is most likely to be awake and active ❤️

Yeah, I thought that might be the case, but figured I'd get some feedback

Yes, I think it is worth persevering with the mug as hammy is visible and you can tell more easily from his body language how he is feeling. I think a hamster is so small that it would be difficult to monitor him in a snuggle sack ❤
