I'm taking Albert to the vet on Thursday for his nails to be clipped.
They've told me it's going to cost £26.00.
Is that about the right price?
I don't mind paying it but it does seem a lot of money.
It's a nurse not the vet who will be clipping Albert's nails.

That sounds normal to me but hopefully other members will know more. I hope the visit goes well.

It sounds about right to me too for a vet visit. A standard consultation with mine is about £24 without any procedures. Although you might think a nurse appointment might be slightly cheaper than a vet appointment but it's probably a standard fee for nail clipping.

Some charge a lot more. My local vet (non exotic) charges £55 for a consultation! Which is bizarre that the exotic vet is cheaper (but further away which is a pain).

Sprites vet charges £60 just for a consultation.
London is probably more expensive. I'm in the North East so £55 locally is a bit high. £24 is about average.

That's sounds normal to me and not bad compared to others. The exotics vet here charges three times as much as my general vet.

I think on average although it varies around the country & from one vet to another, £50-60 for a vet consultaion & around £25 for a nurse appointment, some exotic vets do charge a lot more but not all.

Thank you everyone.
It's a long time since I've taken a pet to the vet so it's gone up quite a bit.
Just wanted to make sure that was the going rate.
