I thought I would tell you all about a special piggy we had called Mooli.

I spotted Mooli on the website of a rabbit rescue and knew I had to have him. He was living with his three brothers and they all had a fight and had to be separated. The rescue was in Surrey so my partner had a long journey there. On the way back there were a lot of police at the train station and they thought my partner looked like he was carrying something suspicious. They were quite surprised when it turned out to be a guinea pig!

My partner named him Mooli after the white vegetable. :)

When Mooli moved in, we had four female guinea pigs. He was very nervous and shook when we took him out his carrier but he totally transformed when he realised he was going to live with four girls and he became very confident quickly establishing himself as the top piggy of the group.

Mooli was always up to something. He was the only guinea pig who managed to get out the cage. He climbed on top of a wooden house and into a bag of hay. I found him on the top of a 10kg bag of hay happily munching away. He was very funny.

We lost Mooli to renal failure after about four years. It seems he was much older then we were told. We loved having him so much. Here are some pictures so you can see how cute he was.

He loved sitting on his sofa.

This was after he had a bath.

For three months or so after adopting Orko, I kept calling him Mooli. Mooli left a huge impression on us.

Oh Rainbow he was absolutely gorgeous! I had to laugh at your partner being investigated by the Police while carrying a guinea pig! Assume Mooli was in a pet carrier? Thank you for sharing that with us. Such a beautiful boy. Did he end up living with the three girls then?

It was funny as Mooli was in the carrier and the police did not know what to say when they saw him! Mooli happily lived with the girls. He bonded with them in just 20 minutes and I was able to put them all together. :)

Lovely memorial for your special boy Rainbow, Mooli looks lovely & he was lucky to be found by you & go on to have such a happy life.
I had to laugh at the Police too, would have loved to have seen their faces!

Thank you for telling us all about Mooli with the lovely photos too. Didn’t take him long to bond with the girls after the unhappy outcome with his brothers. Wonder why??!! Sensible Mooli, he knew he was in a better place and a loving home. Piggies are adorable and easy to have a soft spot for.

Yes, it was so sad he was put with his brothers which is a huge no no for guinea pigs as there should not be more then two males together. His ears were all bitten and chewed and never recovered.
