I've already mentioned Lilly's background in my second chance hamsters thread.

Lilly is a happy little hamster who seems to love her Hamster Heaven home. She comes out for playtime and uses every hide and both wheels in her home. Lilly is still a bit fast and excitable when handled but she's not scared of humans or hands.

Hello Lilly! She is absolutely adorable and it's wonderful she is out and about already and can be handled. She's bound to be a bit skitty at first with the change of environment, and I bet she's loving her wonderful hamster heaven set up! Looking forward to hearing more about Lilly. I have a feeling she is going to be a special one and with you a long time :)

Welcome sweet Lilly! I also have a feeling she is going to be very special.😀

Lilly likes the millet. She sniffed her way down from the carrot house on the back shelf.

Everybody's hamsters seem to like Millet except mine!

Just had a nibble when i put my hand in her cage but she's fine with hands out of her cage.
She either tested my edibility or she's territorial. 'That's my Hamster Heaven, so get out of it!'.

She is getting used to you really quickly! She looks like a cotton ball.

It's still very early days :)

Lilly is very keen on out of cage time but we had to work on coming out of the cage.

She kept walking onto the door and then hesitated when i offered the mug and run in and out of it.

Then i scooped her up in my hands but she jumped off and back into her cage doing a little somersault.
She disappeared for a while then.

Later on she was on her wheel while Clive and I watched her. Clive went home and Lilly kept meerkating by her door. She has this habit of meerkating and almost hopping the same time and sometimes falls over. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with her, she's just very excitable.

This time Lilly walked into the mug and stayed in it. I gave her the whole space to run around in and she loved it. For a rotund little thing she can run surprisingly fast. I can scoop her up in my hands to put her back in her cage no problem.

Excellent she's been out of the cage - and it's early days. It sounds like she wanted to copy Clive later!

Funny you say that because that's the impression i got. When i sat by her cage with Clive she came to her door as well.

Lilly is a funny little hamster with interesting habits. She has a sandbath in a big bon bon jar and goes in it. But.
Last night and just now i've watched her rolling around in the plastic tube at the back that connects two shelves!

I know that Orko also rolls on top of a hide instead of his sand but i haven't had a hamster before who rolls in anything else but sand.

No, forget above, she's a hamster and can reach her back.
When I saw Orko rolling on his hide my partner wondered if he liked the feel of the texture. I am not sure if that is why Lilly and Orko roll like that.

Maybe they can reach their back? With their back legs? But then maybe dwarf hamsters have really short back legs!
