A week with Socks and Socks Mom

Borage is lovely! You are clever growing things in the window box - I could never keep anything alive in pots! It's also edible and a herb for making tea for humans (but it's medicinal so there might be contraindications with medicines!). Traditionally it was for coughs and asthma I believe :-)

Unfortunately hamsters can't eat borage flowers. I don't know about guinea pigs!

If the Kindle Fire isn't quite up to scratch, Amazon are usually quite good with returns! Within 14 days.

The guppies are so cute!

The Amazon Fire is OK. Í am getting to like it more and more. It's a nice size for holding while I sit and has all the basics for a good price. I don't really need anything more elaborate and I keep finding things of interest on it 💻

Some more plants 🌿 The guinea pigs are very fussy so I try to give them fresh greens when possible, newly picked. Some will grow in water and I can use the tender leaves as treats instead of buying processed treats. Also I cook with them and they make my kitchen look nice and green 🏡

All those lovely plants and herbs in the kitchen :-) Lucky guinea pigs. I think I can recognise rosemary and basil? Not sure what the others are :-)

You are very clever doing that cross-stitch :-)

Thank you👍 Yes, lots of rosemary which roots quite easily and is surprisingly popular with the animals. Mint and celery as well, so it smells nice 🌸. The Dragon fly is made with diamond painting, the diamonds being little sequin like bits of plastic which stick into a "canvas" which has the picture on it covered in an adhesive resin like film over it. I use a little tool to pick up the diamonds and put them on the corresponding numberbforvthat colour. It's nice enough, but I prefer sewing. 🖌

My keyboard is very much in charge. It turns the word (resin) into train. But if I spell r e s i n tresin it helpfully suggests that the word should be resin 😄

It's very clever and creative and looks lovely.

Hello everyone 🐾 I got out for playpen time last night ❤️
Mom: I cleaned Socks' cage the day before yesterday and when I saw him in the night, he sat still and ignored me. He wasn't interested in climbing into the tube to go to the playpen 🙁 Then after a while he went into his tunnel under the dual chamber house. I checked on him there next day. He had abandoned his original nest but is healthy.
Socks: last night I was keen for a run and hurried across the cage to catch the tube 👍

So Mom bought the fish. She had a fried egg sandwich for brunch, so will cook her fish later in the afternoon 👩‍🍳

The rose is beautiful and the apples are lovely - quite autumnal looking. Whereabouts are these? And the snail - I like seeing snails - although they can be invasive! Fish sounds like a treat. We sometimes have smoked haddock (cooked in foil as you say :-)). But only get it frozen.

Thank you! The apples grow in the garden of this property and next door. The big apple tree is next door, it's huge. The rose is outside the building where I live. The snail is on a tiny commute, reminding me that I am on holiday while everyone else is on the move 😀. I love kippers. Foil cooked smoked haddock must be very tasty! The fish is Basra and it went into the oven a few minutes ago with olive oil and herbs, including green onion grown in my window box 🌱
