Hi everyone!

Summer is just around the corner; at least in Barcelona, the forecast is for temperatures to reach 26 degrees next week, which is already a cause for concern for my hamsters.

In the groups I’m in and among my friends who have hamsters, the Bucatstate castle—made of clay and with space to fit a cooling pack—is highly recommended (if you search for ‘Bucatstate castle’, you should find out what it is, although I couldn’t find it available, at least).

I found this alternative on AliExpress and have already tried it out myself with my Syrian hamster, Moka. She’s relatively small for a female Syrian, but I reckon any hamster would have enough space to have a nap on a hot day. You’ll see that there are two sizes of house: M and L. I strongly recommend you buy the L size, even if you have dwarf or Roborovski hamsters, as I’m worried there won’t be enough space to fit the cooling pack.
I’ve also attached the types of cooling packs we use. I bought a pack of six and hope that’ll be enough to have them ready to swap out when they stop cooling, for my two hamsters.

They come with bags designed to be filled with water and frozen; however (and I think it’s because I went overboard and filled them too much), once frozen, the top lid doesn’t close properly because of the size of the bag with the frozen water. And I think it’s dangerous if the lid doesn’t close properly in case the hamster manages to climb to the top... And I haven't been able to open them and drain the excess water either... I don't know, I think the plastic ice packs from Amazon are more convenient.

I hope to hear that it works for you! I still need to check if my hamsters like sleeping in there, but I’ve already found that it cools the inside.
