So, i think my baby is dying. I opened her multi chamber house to blood on bedding. At first I thought it must be a nail snag. I put her in a clear measuring glass. She is pooping blood. Her butt was bloody. It’s not a scratch either. We are going to the vet in 20 minutes. This happened last night. She is old, 2 1/2 years, but i didn’t expect this. She was originally going for a nail
trim tomorrow because of how long and curled in her nails are. She is barely able to get out of her sand bath. She kept falling over. It’s only about 1-2 inches.. She used to get out no problem. She is waddling around because of the pain or because of her nails or both.

I’ll update you guys later. Here are some pictures.

The last picture is a poop. I’m scared, I might have to put her to sleep.

I'm so sorry to hear this terribly sad news. The bleeding does look bad. I hope things go alright at the vet, it's excellent that you can be seen immediately. What an awful shock. Poor little Teddy 😔

She is in carrier right now. My sister is driving me to the vet. I also have her food with me, just in case. I put a hide, chews, and flax seed spray inside the carrier. I also brought cucumber. Gave her a piece. She took it, hasn’t eaten it yet. We will be there soon, and the vet will see Angel. I’ve heard it is a really good vet, i haven’t seen it yet. People are apparently really nice. My poor baby 💔😞

Thank you all. Update! The vet thinks it is one of three options: 1. Parasite.
2. Bacterial infection.
3. Something much much worse.
So, we are going to do a medication for wet tail while we are waiting on fecal results. Her nails got trimmed, so she should get around better.
But… she has cataracts. She is going blind. She can pretty much only see through one eye…
Wet tail medication will be an injection. My sister, who is planning on being an exotic vet, will be doing that for me. I’m not good with that. He is going to demonstrate in a minute. He is currently getting the medicine.

Thank you everyone for your support. We got the fecal testing back, and she does not have parasites.
I also just found a few bugs again. Ah, this never ends.

I will report back with more news as Angel continues receiving treatment!

To be honest it does sound like something internal to have bleeding. Possibly pyometra? If it's pyometra, the antibiotics could help for now, but it may lead to the need to spay - depending on her age. It could also be bleeding from something else - another organ perhaps. Has the bleeding stopped now? I am not entirely sure how they definitively diagnose pyometra, but possibly and ultrasound. How old is she now? And is it an exotic vet?

I understood Angel is 2, 5 years old. I hope there is no need for an operation 🥲

Thank you. I couldn't remember. If she is 2.5 years old then they are unlikely to operate. If it is pyometra, I think some people have had their hamsters kept on a maintenance dose of antibiotic.

Has the bleeding stopped at all?

I’m not sure. I will have to check. I think if it hasn’t stopped, it has lessened by a lot. But yes, Angel is about 2.5 years old so I don’t believe we could do an operation on her.
Yes, we are going to an exotic animal vet. I also was wondering if it was something internal. But if it is, it might just be a quality of life sort of thing, in which I would give her the best life possible. If it is a bacterial infection, i am thinking a tummy bug. I am almost 100% sure it isn’t wettail.
I may be back soon with more updates!
