Blossom’s creative mum!

Bamboo needles are lovely! I only got some a few years ago and really like them. Prior to that I had the old metal ones (kind of plastic coated). They were ok and I miss the clicking sound :-) But I prefer the bamboo ones. I actually had a whole knitting needle set in a case for Christmas a couple of years ago, intending to start again ..................and still haven't! Lots of other projects going on which never seem to get finished so I feel like I'm not getting on with them if I start knitting!

Believe it or not, we have a load of sheeps wool here each year (from the farm) which gets sold for peanuts to the wool marketing board. At one time I wanted to spin it and use it, but they're the wrong type of sheep for that! Their wool is very coarse.
I was offered a fleece from a local farm but have nowhere to clean it. I haven’t done any spinning, but would love to spin my own yarn and knit it. Coarse yarn makes good baskets and bags, or coasters and placemats. I knitted this basket with coarser yarn from our local flock.

You could use it to insulate hamster enclosures :)

That basket is lovely! Yes unfortunately the wool all went months ago after shearing time. I've often thought of keeping a fleece but as you say, you need somewhere to clean it.

Hill sheep with rough wool!

Your knits are all beautiful and very clever, how wonderful to display them as an exhibition 🙂

Cowls are also a lot quicker to knit than scarves as they are much shorter…also no flappy ends when you are wearing them, so I find them much easier to wear 👍 A simple cowl pattern would be with 100g super chunky yarn (Drops Andes is a good one),cast on 60 stitches, knit about 55 cm garter stitch (or until your yarn runs out, which will be between 50-60 cm). Sew the ends together, and it’s ready to wear 👍
Actually cast on less stitches for a super chunky cowl…maybe 35…and use 10mm needles…60 stitches would be more suitable for aran yarn on 5mm needles.

How exciting you have sheep 🙂🙂🙂 Had to give the breed a google, fantastic! 🐑🐑🐑
Not that exciting ha ha - I hardly ever see them - they're not near the actual house.

What lovely knitting, so talented. I'm not much good at knitting it takes me ages and I end up dropping stitches. I will stick to my painting lol.

Painting is something I definitely can't do. Stickmen is about my limit!
