The Savic giant Rolly is 11" (27.5cm) so plenty big enough - at least for now unless she grows really big. It's unusual for a Syrian not to use a wheel though - I wonder if she can push it ok. Does it spin easily? You could try the Trixie 28cm - most hamsters seem to like that as it has the holes and spins well. But that would mean buying another wheel. Although I like to have a spare wheel for the playpen so she might use the Rolly wheel in a playpen perhaps. The trixie is slightly less bulky as well, for fitting in a cage.

The wheel spins round easily enough. I’ve checked that it’s not caught on any bedding underneath or anything Tbh, I really don’t want to buy another wheel. I wasn’t at all sure she would use the rolly as, although it was too small, she showed no interest in her previous wheel. I took a punt on buying the rolly to see if she would be interested in a bigger wheel, but can’t afford to just keep buying more

I’ve added a substrate dish to Miss B‘s platform, made from her old wheel and filled with shredded cardboard. I popped some food in there to forage too. She enjoyed having a good root around

Btw, I realised B’s wheel probably was a little stiff, so I put some vegetable oil on it this morning when I cleaned her out, and it seems to be turning more smoothly, so hopefully she will use it now

The little tinker had me confused…the corner I thought she was using to wee was dry, but the corner under her wheel was damp!

It's lovely she's enjoying all those treats She must be very happy with so many special treats and an extra dig box. So she's changed her pee corner! Hope the wheel works a bit better.

Yes, definitely tortoise shell, a lovely blend of chocolate and golden. I hadn't come across a hamster with her colouring before
