Hi I'm Bruce the dwarf hamster I was born in Dec 24 (estimated). I'm a cheeky chappy and love to hide from my human, except when I fancy a tasty snack! I've got her well trained and like to sit on her hand to eat my treat, but only under my own terms and conditions. Sometimes I like to give a gentle nip to remind her I'm the boss. I may be small but I'm mighty.

Hello small and mighty Bruce! He does look feisty on that second photo - and also has a lovely expression - heart-melting It's lovely he sits on your hand to eat.

He has lots of things to do in his nice cage there and an amazing wheel.

"The hooman gave me broccoli , I left it in my dish. She can take that away. It's yukky."

Bruce is 100% not impressed with broccoli. Every time I try him with it he leaves it. He really loves a small piece of cucumber. And some fresh parsley from the garden. He's not as keen at interacting with me as Waffles is, but when he wants to interact he's very nice and only gives a gentle nip to be cheeky. He's kind of a ghost hamster and I only see him on his own terms.

He must be the first hamster I've heard of that doesn't like broccoli! I suspect he's telling you he really really likes cucumber and parsley Clever little ham ha ha. Our first Syrian was the only really really fussy one. Bizarrely he rejected anything I thought would be a nice special treat - strawberry and blueberry. The look of horror and disgust on his face if presented with strawberry or blueberry and the drama! He was one for giving black looks and turning his back on you to make his feelings known. He had me apologising a lot It wasn't all fruit though - he did like apple and banana.

But yes I think cucumber can be a big favourite Bruce sounds quite an independent hamster. It's lovely that Waffles is interacting with you - a real joy after his previous life - for him and you

Bruce doesn't seem phased by his new next-door neighbour. (Waffles has cardboard on her cage so they can't see each other and Bruce has the perspex screens.) He's behaving completely like normal (ie hiding from me unless he wants treats. ) He's a funny wee hamster. Looking forward to trying him with the new treats that arrived today.

It's the "chinchilla and Degu delight" in the pic on waffles post. Hopefully they like it. Previous hamsters have liked it. (I usually pick out the grass pellets and give them to the guinea pigs shh don't tell the hamsters )

It was all from "pet connection" online. They seem to have fair prices and good postage prices.

Tonight Bruce decided to sit like a Buddha in his Coco soil and munch on some sunflower seeds. He's a ghost hamster, I don't usually see him much except when he feels like it. He is always in his burrows.

He does interact on his own terms. But sometimes doesn't like any interaction and hides.

Definitely. He's not happy tonight as I had to disturb him to clean him. I've never had a hamster like him. Lol
Sometimes I think the really deep bedding makes some hamsters anti social and makes the taming process really hard. But I suppose if its better for the animals welfare, that's how it has to be
