Could be. I've never had a hamster going through a moult if that's what it is. He's a bit calmer now as well. I think age becomes him.

Great news to hear Clive’s fur is showing regrowth. He’s got the cutest face 🙂

In two of the photos is he playing in amongst all your spare hamster hides? fantastic!

Hams has only been coming out every other or third night, feels kinda odd. He’s just popped out now to use the toilet and have a drink. I offered him a seed which he ate whilst I stroked him. I offered him the travel jug and he wandered back to bed 😁. I’ll try again in an hour or so and if not I’ll leave him be.

Yes, i have a lot of spare hamster stuff including wheels and let them free roam so they have allsorts to play with inbetween running around.

I just wrote about Rodney who doesn't want to come out much. Same as Hams, he comes out for a snack and stroke and then goes back to bed.

Rodney got up 17.30 and went for a stroll and climb up the shoe rack then pouched his food and went to bed. That's him now for the night. I think he gets up early when he wants out so he can go back to sleep sooner.

At 19.00 this one gave me the "my turn" look. Clive wants out first and eats after whereas Jack will get his food first and ask to come out later. Jack won't come out of his cage unless there's new food in his bowls.

Aw - I can imagine they do a "my turn" look when you have a few!

It's quiet here since Rory's gone and Rodney comes out early, if at all.
Scottie is more of a morning hamster and hasn't walked into his taxi lately to come out and Finley doesn't do out of cage time.

It's mainly Clive and Jack now.
Clive just put his paws on my leg because he's hungry so i put him back to eat. He'll be out again later for a much longer run around.
Jack's finished eating and sat by his door so he's out now. I can get a quick cuddle with Jack before i put him on the floor. He's such a chilled hamster.

Clive is 13 months and Jack is 15 months so they're no longer youngsters and it shows. I love that age. They're confident and more patient, still lively and very active but in a more mature way.

I love that age too :) It sounds like you might be needing another Syrian! That would be hard work though, having a baby.

No time to tame a baby. I would over commit myself timewise.
Rodney needs more care now and Clive is quite a clingy hamster. Scottie is interactive in a Robo sort of way so i spend a fair amount of time sitting by his cage. Finley lives in his own world like Ozzy did, oblivious to anything outside their cage but Jack likes attention when he's not eating or sleeping.

Two active Syrians at a time is enough and just right.
When i had four active Syrians i had to stagger their out of cage time and sometimes they all wanted out at once so two had to wait their turn. They weren't impressed and expressed themselves by rattling and chewing the bars, especially Clive.

I miss having a dwarf but decided not to get another when Gertie died. It's always sad when one dies but Gertie's unexpected death at such a young age was a shock.

I say all that now but i'm known to say one thing and then go off to do the very opposite. Done it all my life.

I know that was terribly sad about Gertie.

Ha ha. I know what you mean.

I've done a lot of re arranging the past few days.
Moved Bernard downstairs on Rodney's table then moved Lilly on the table upstairs where Bernard lived in the bin cage.
I took the long table down where Jack and Rory used to live and put Jack's cage on a unit.
I decided to keep the bin cage and use it as a storage box on a trolley then turned it into a plaything for the hamsters.
It took Clive several attempts to get into it but that was part of the fun.
He loves to climb and explore with storage boxes full of hamster stuff firm favourites.

The sugar skulls tape is my favourite.

I once made a commissioned bin cage and the lady wanted PINK polka dot tape!
What an ordeal that was.

How did you bring yourself to use the pink tape? Hehe.

Are you anti pink as well Beryl? I am not anti it but I'm definitely not a pink person!

I'm not anti anything. I simply dislike the colour pink and avoid it wherever i can. My favourite colour is green and quite a few people don't like that.

I purposely painted shelves in a hamster cage pink once to see if i could cope but re painted them the next day.

Ha ha - I couldn't cope with pink shelves :)

Clive is such a baby. He's jealous of his new neighbour, dwarf girl Lilly.

He spends ages sitting on his back top shelf looking and sniffing over to Lilly's cage. Not only that, he chucks his poops out! I had to cover the targeted part of Lilly's cage with a large, bendy jute place mat.

Today he's been displaying some of his early behaviours again of ripping and chewing up cardboard and bar chewing to get my attention.

I've been sitting in the playground with him for the last hour and he's happily playing because he has me all to himself.

I took him out last night and earlier today when Lilly was running around in her cage and carried him about like a baby to show him that nothing has changed. He didn't even wriggle and seemed happy for me to hold and stroke him.
