I have bought a cork tunnel. I've scrubbed it with hot water to remove soil and baked in the oven at 100 degrees. I've cleaned the outside really well but the inside is much harder to access. I have had my hand in there and scrubbed it with a brush as best as possible.

It's a cracking thing. However I wanted to ask if it was safe. The inside is not at all smooth. Obviously that is natural but I almost worry about splinters 😂

I've attached some photos of the inside as best as I can take. Does it look ok?

It's absolutely fine :-) Once washed and baked it is sterilised basically. Cork doesn't really have splinters and even if it still looks a bit rough and ready, it's fine :)

Super thank you. It's a fabulous thing. I have various things on order for Christmas. A new multi house chamber etc. Christmas day is going to be spent constructing a new enclosure. I had to throw lots after Hamlet died sadly. He'd had a good old chew at his house bless him!

Then after Christmas I will be searching for a new little bean. Im thinking of rescuing, but it's going to be hard to be patient!
