Critical Care for healthy hamster?

Hi Forum, wanted to ask something
I have an oxbow critical care which is not being used right now.
Im wondering, is it okay if i use it for healthy hamster? Since its have an expiration date and such a waste if its not being used while the expiration date still not run out yet.

Oxbow Critical Care Herbivore

Ingredients: timothy, soybean hulls, soy protein concentrate, wheat germ, cane sugar molasses, salt, soybean oil, oat hulls and bran, wheat flour, yeast, vitamins, salts, minerals.

Gross analysis:

Crude protein: 16%,
Crude fat: 3%.
Crude cellulose : 23%, Crude ash : 10%.
Crude ash: 10%, Crude protein: 16%, Crude fat: 3%, Crude fibre: 23
Calcium : 0,6%, Phosphorus : 0,2
Phosphorus: 0,2% of the total

Im still have it a lot and keep it on refrigerator.

It is safe to feed but hamsters don't tend to really like it. It's not even the best for sick hamsters really as it's hay-based and unpalatable - soaked pellets from a normal food mix are much better, or baby food or even things like porridge.

Agree. A healthy hamster doesn’t really need all that hay and sugar . It’s a shame when something gets wasted I know.

You can actually make up your own type of critical care as and when needed

It's more of a guinea pig and rabbit food as they depend more on eating high quantities of fibre than hamsters do. They eat 80% of their diet as hay or grass, whereas hamsters are more omnivorous and can eat insects and grains. It can be useful in an emergency, but I think what Daisy recommends is better.

I never know this before, has been asked the seller and my first vet, it is a good choice to give oxbow critical care for sick hamster (Tako). I never know that hamster tend to not like it, yeah its such a waste however glad that i know this. May i know, what is good critical care for sick hamster ? Science selective? Since i learn when tako doesnt like baby porridge even i gave him a lot varities, but he reject it all.

Well, i should have this one then as an emergency food. Since no one have Science Selective here, i should import this one.

It usually has a long use by date on A year or maybe two. There are other home made things you can use in an e regency of necessary as well - eg sugar water for torpor. For nutrition thing like shelled hemp seeds contain vitamins and minerals. But no need to buy those really straight away. Hemp seeds should be easy to find if needed and can just be crushed between spoons.
