Thank you!Thank you, I have sent a donation![]()
Woohoo! Winnie and I are delighted with our bannerThank you @Hammie-OEnjoy your shiny new banner!
Finally remembered to send, hope it helps! Here is the annual request for donations! This site is owner funded, supported by donations mainly. Each year, members are kind enough to donate something towards the running costs. This is entirely voluntary however.
If you would like to make a donation to help support the forum, however small, then this can be made via the paypal link below - to the forum's paypal account. In return you will receive a special purple banner under your name for the next year (example in photo below). If you don't have paypal, you can either open a paypal account via the link, or message me for an alternative method.
The site is non-profit-making and a global forum for Hamster owners - our care guides reach many people.
Where it says "What is this payment for" please add your username in that box as a reference, when using paypal - so I know who to give the banner to! Or you can post on here if you forgot.
Note: If you select the friends and family option (rather than goods and services option) then the forum doesn't get charged a fee for the transaction.
The donations request is a bit earlier this year - the first main bill isn't due until early October, so I'll keep the donations option open until late September. A similar post is on the home page, for those who visit and read articles mainly. The site will definitely be continuing and be renewed however!
Some additional one-off, up-front costs have already been paid this year, for necessary upgrades re the online safety act. Even so, the annual renewal fees are still higher than last year due to software renewals due over the coming year: Approximately £635.25.
This sum includes:
Server/hosting plan
Email plan
Software licence renewal
AI content moderator renewal
Software addons for functionality and security (and renewals)
Image subscription plan
In terms of income from affiliate links – the grand total of income so far is approximately £3. The affiliate links are quite recent, so I’ll see how much they make over the next year, which might help towards the bills for the following year.

Thanks Matt. If you're having some issues, I could do a paypal "invoice" or request - would that help? The downside to that is I'd need to know how much you wanted to donate, to set up the request! You could message me about that. Not forgetting will be donating some point this week. PayPal is making it hard for me. Had issues this week. I was transferring £4 to a friend and it fragged it up as irregular activity!
It's not letting me send any payments yet but I'm sorting it out tomorrow. Keeps sending eCheques and failing. If I can't sort it tomorrow I'll message you privately about how much you can request etc. thanks! Thanks Matt.
