Freeze dried chicken

Is anyone able to recommend a good freeze dried chicken treat I can pick up in pets at Home as its next to my work. I brought some yesterday but it was raw freeze dried and after some looking I found they aren't safe for hamsters.

I don't know if Pets at Home has anything. But cat treats for freeze dried chicken bites are fine as long as it says 100% chicken on the ingredients list I got mine from Amazon.

I've also been trying to find safe chicken treats. I've seen debates in past about raw freeze dried chicken vs cooked. Is the raw safe too? It would be great if someone had a list of the safe chicken treat options.

It's a good point. I haven't bought any for a few years and always assumed it was cooked chicken as it looked like that. But I've just looked up various cat treats and none of them specifically say if it's cooked or raw chicken that is freeze dried. Which suggests it might be raw. I think raw is not a good idea because freeze drying doesn't kill the bacteria in raw chicken - which might be ok for cat digestion but risky for hamster digestion possibly.

This does suggest that a lot of people are giving hamsters freeze dried chicken bites without knowing they are raw perhaps! I stopped getting them because they went off quite quickly once a packet was opened. It said best before 3 to 4 weeks I think, once opened, And most of it was getting thrown away. Egg is a protein source though (chopped boiled or a bit of scrambled) or a bit of fresh chicken if you happen to have roasted a chicken! Also nuts.

Based on my research, Thrive 100% Chicken Cat Treats seems recommended a lot. I'm trying to find out if Rosewood Chicken Freeze Dried Cat Treats is safe too, as that seems like a much cheaper alternative option. They both just say 100% Chicken but as there seems to be a lot of hamster owners that have used Thrive with no issues, I'll probably just go with that even though it's more expensive.

Contail is a Chinese brand (I think) that makes it- if you order from the U.S., you can't order from the brand directly, but freeze-dried chicken treats from them are available on the Happy Hamstery website.
