Funny moments with your hamster

Thought I'd start a thread for funny moments - if your hamster ever did anything that made you laugh out loud (stories, photos, videos). It was Beryl's comment about hamsters can be reckless (on Raffy's thread) that reminded me of this. This was when Charlie was exploring his new Barney cage - it was only partially set up with a few things, so he could have a play in it before being moved over. And this is what happens if you don't provide a ramp!

Thanks Jain :-) Yes that was a funny, if slightly worrying, moment for me at the time!
 
Sprite was on my lap enjoying a mealworm. When he finished it he looked for another and popped the string of my joggers into his mouth. 😂 He was surprised to find it was not another worm and then wanted to go back in his cage. It was so funny and cute.
 
I think you’ve already read about Raffy and the slug but it was quite a visual moment with him holding it in his paws and chomping. Sorry! Funny but gruesome.
 
This morning Sprite really made me laugh. He had already been out in his playpen and wanted to go back. Then he decided he wanted something else. I sat him on my lap and offered him a dandelion root. This was a different shape to the usual ones and he ignored it and leapt into the jar I keep them in! I have various sticks in their such as apple wood and hazelnut and he rolled over all of them! It was so funny. The jar was horizontal in my hand with him in it rolling around and flinging the sticks! I have no idea why he did that. Then he had a wash in the jar and went back onto my lap. I gave him a different dandelion root which he pouched and then happily went back to his cage. 😂
 
Ha ha - it sounds like he was claiming the jar and scent marking everything :-). And maybe he just saw it as a hide.
 
Sprite: I'm going to scent everything in this jar so nobody else wants them. A bit like humans when they stick their finger in all the cupcakes so nobody else wants them 🐹😉
 
In the evening we have to pretend to not see Sprite when he comes out as he does not want to be seen. If one of us leaves the room he often rushes out.

This is a video of Sprite last night. In the time my partner popped out of the room Sprite rushed out and used his sand bath then rushed back.

Sprite played a trick on me! He came out briefly and sat on my lap and then indicated he wanted to go back to his cage. I popped him back and he went down his MCH hole only for me to shut the lid and for him to reverse and come back out! 😂 He wanted to be out in secret. He went straight to his tube to have a wash and checked to see if I was around. I know the video is not very clear but at the very beginning you can see I have just shut the cage lid.
