Hello, I'll adopt a hamster in two weeks

He looks beautiful. A lovely rich colour. Is Polo his final name or are you still thinking? I love the name Polo! Very original! Rolls off the tongue. So hard if you had to choose! But I am sure Polo will soon bond with you and you will love him and then you won't even think what he looks like. Believe me I have often wanted to get two! Is that an option? :ROFLMAO:

Congratulations to the lovely Polo! He is a gorgeous colour. It always makes my day to hear of a little hamster moving into a loving forever home.

If he's young he may still be a baby! He will need you as his Mum :)

What a beautiful little ham. Can't wait to hear more about Polo as he settles in. 😀

Welcome to your new home Polo, looks like you will be loved and cared for. Fallen on your paws!
Look forward to updates as he settles in.

Hello, he's sleeping in a corner of the cage. Is this a normal behaviour?

It’s not that unusual for them to sleep in odd places until they settle a bit, they usually move into the house if it’s a suitable one or dig under somewhere to make a nest.
Have you cleaned his house at all? That can make them move out sometimes but they usually get over it.

The thing is that he was sleeping in his house until now. I have rearranged a little the cage, but I haven't touched the house.

I wouldn’t worry, it might have upset him a bit but if he was sleeping in the house before he’ll probably go back to it.
It won’t hurt for him to sleep there until he does.

I'd try putting a smelly treat in the house with a trail of sunflower seeds leading in there, and a big pile of paper nesting material outside the house - just torn up strips of plain white toilet paper. That should tempt him back in there tonight :-)

It can take them two weeks to fully settle into a change and he's probably a bit disorientated. It's better not to clean anything or move things around for a couple of weeks now :) Generally hamsters never like anything moved! But once they are settled and at home, they tolerate the odd change (but may follow your hand around anxiously to see what you're up to!).

They scent mark everything and find a routine in the first couple of weeks.

He is in his house again, but thank you for your advice 🤗 .
