Higgins is a beautiful hamster, lot's of character,I love watching his video's and gosh he's a handsome boy on those photos He's having the best care a hamster could wish for and he has so many adventures in his playpen and beyond looking forward to seeing more of Higgins Ness

Aw Higgins says thank you - he knows he's wonderful I couldn't get him out tonight as Stepson has a very early start tomorrow.

Higgins is as active as ever. I noticed on the nightcam recently that he seems very keen to come out in the middle of the night these days, and started to wonder if I should upgrade him to a larger cage. But the timing is tricky because he is over 2 years old and it might be a bit much for that kind of change at his age. He always wants to come out again when he goes back

how big is his current cage? What would you upgrade to? I've got cage decor and sizes on the brain, too

It's 100cm x 50cm. I do have a 120cm x 64cm one stored upstairs. I've changed my mind now as he's getting older and it might be too much upheaval for him.

Higgins was out just now - a bit early for him - I think he had been woken up by me chatting to someone in the room and came out for a drink. So offered him his tube and he had some sofa time - where he tried to chew a plastic bag and then had a chew on his rosewood “cake “. No photo unfortunately as I had my hands full making sure he didn’t jump off the sofa.

He’s enjoying his science selective at night anyway. He is still so fast an energetic I can’t imagine him ever not being.

Higgins last night. Still super speedy. On the sofa, in the playpen, back on the sofa, back in the playpen - did a fair bit of sofa climbing. Just over 2 years and 2 months old - I can’t believe he’s so active.

Thank you I do think he looks older but doesn't act it! Normally I'd be thinking about metacam at this age, but he seems to be doing so well.

He did actually climb it! He got right up inside my trouser leg about half way up my calf. But as he was then digging his claws in to cling on it got painful so had to lift him down . He climbs very well.
