Introducing Luna

I haven't posted for a while but those who may remember me back in March, I told you about my sweet Syrian hamster called Sparkles. Sadly she passed on the 11th April in my partners arms, she didn't die alone. The sweet thing is, Sparky didn't die alone.


We moved on quite quick and ended up getting another hamster only a few days after as it hurt us seeing an empty cage!

So I would like to introduce you to Luna (pictured below), it's taken me 2 months to tame her and finally now she allows us to pick her up and cuddle her.

She is very scatty at times, turn on a light switch and she jumps, but she's getting better.

This photo was taken this morning in her play pen!

Oh my goodness, she is absolutely gorgeous! I'm so glad you have another hamster. I'm so sorry about Sparkles - they really leave a hole in our hearts don't they - but then another hamster who needs a loving home comes along and that can help.

I absolutely adore Luna's colouring - she looks part grey? Well done with the taming. It took me about that long with my new Syrian as well, before I could pick him up

Can't wait to hear more about Luna!

Yeah she is so friendly now, it took some time. She is not a replacement for Sparky, they both have different personalities. Although Luna is friendly, she will tell you when she wants you to put her down, she gives you a little tap with her back legs lol.

Yes they are all different And that helps. I have two Syrians and they are complete opposites, personality-wise

So this was Luna this morning, this is the first time in 2 months since she's been very playful and funny. Look at the way she spits the cardboard out!

Ha ha that made me laugh! The way she spat it out - but also the way she wrestles with the tube. I think she might have something in common with @Lovelyness hamster Blossom there - the cardboard destroyer Maybe they could set up a hamster group to discuss the pleasures of spitting cardboard!

Just like Miss B!! That's exactly what she does with bits of egg box...and her Cork mat now too lol They are kindred spirits!!

Somewhere under the burrows awaits a Luna who will jump out at her prey which happens to be a wallnut

Cage is Savic Plaza and I had plastic screens bolted around just in case she bar bites but she hasn't yet as she has a lot of bordem breakers!

She's adorable! Agree they are great photos! You might want to enter one in this month's photo competition (which I'm about to start ....) That looks like a great burrow she's made. Mine go crazy for walnuts.
