Jack will be introduced later as well.
Just now, he's out to play!

Jack's history:

I used to take in unwanted hamsters and rehome them to loving forever homes.
My OH rehomed this one. To himself.
Jack gave him this look and that was that.
He wasn't going anywhere.

Aw Jack! He has such an adorable face! I'm not surprised you decided to keep him.

....continued
Jack used to belong to a child who didn't want him anymore so her mother sold him. He lived in a tiny bare cage without a wheel and was fed on mealworms and peaflakes.

Jack loves to eat and sleep but won't touch a mealworm. He is a very calm and chilled hamster who often just sits and watches, preferably in a food bowl.

Jack is lovely to handle because he is so big and cuddly and he lets me stroke him without trying to wriggle away.

He's around 14/15 months old now and has been living with us since he was around 3/4 months old.

AW he sounds lovely and big and cuddly. Large Syrians often are the most laid back and cuddly I think. I am not surprised he is off mealworms.

Jack is such a precious boy. He is so calm and relaxed. It was a very happy day when your OH decided to adopt Jack.

What a special boy with a very winning look indeed!

Until now, Jack was the silent hamster.

Just now my OH called him for his porridge and he stuck his nose out of his door squealing loudly!
I think he must have been in a deep sleep when my OH called him because normally he's up and waiting for his porridge.

Jack sounded like Clive and must have been listening to him making a racket sometimes.

It is like Jack knows if he makes a similar noise he will get something. How cute.

It was more of an outraged noise for waking him up by calling his name.
Once he saw the porridge he stopped.

Those two copy each other sometimes. I've noticed that before.
It's almost like Clive is a bad influence on Jack, haha.

Clive is an impatient hamster but has calmed down a bit. He used to rattle and chew the bars when he wanted out and had to wait his turn.

Jack chewed the bars once but stopped within seconds. It was almost like, what's the point in getting my teeth stuck into something unless its edible.

Jack's methods are effective though. He'll sit on a shelf and stare at me.

Oh yes. Here's an example of his 'poor little me stuck in here when Clive's out having fun' look.

How brilliant to have an o.h. who loves hamsters enough to adopt one for himself!

Jack's been out freeroaming tonight. It looked like he wanted out a second time so i opened his door but he turned around to finish his fresh food!

Hello Jack, you are so cute and have a baby face. Lol so funny he just wanted you to open the door so he could ignore it.

That wouldn't surprise me! I do remember having two Syrians at the same time and them kind of going into sync with each other.

Gorgeous photos of Jack! He's so adorable. Porridge is a good idea at this time of year. I must start it up again. Mine had a bit of mashed potato the other night.
