Somebody made a lot of noise this morning and woke me up!
It was Lilly who wanted her taxi to the dig box.

I freshened up the substrate in half of Lilly's cage and tidied up while she was out.

When i put her back she went on a mission to create the biggest mess possible. Chucking sand about, digging everywhere, covering the brushed mat with substrate...

The phrase 'actions speak words' must have been invented for hamsters.

Lilly has been running around me meerkating again. Clive must have pouched the choice pieces in the dig box so i topped it up. Soon as i had done that Lilly was in it.

Lilly really enjoys food. I love how she got into the box. She is so active and agile now. It goes to show what exercise can do for hamsters. :)

Lilly seems to be very interested in Eddie's scent. Last night Eddie was out for quite a while and climbed around on us and the pillows on the futon. This morning Lilly kept climbing on me (had thrown on last night's fleece in a hurry) and the pillows. Eddie's not interested in Lilly's scent but i haven't told her.

She is so confidently agile isn't she?! Knows her way to the dig box very well! I think an out of cage one is a good idea and I must try it. Raffy sort of created his own dig box behind the TV in boxes of stuff. There's nothing can hurt him in there but it's hardly digging material - he just climbs over the top of things. And has a thing about the kindling box - even though it's now empty.

You could repurpose the kindling box as a dig box. Beech chips seem popular.

Lilly with her typical approach to things.

After seeing Lilly tackle the snuffle box I'm advising Eddie to forget any romantic relationship.

If you’re going to do something, do it properly! She’s so full on, love it 😍

I had plans of a Sunday lie in but Lilly put a stop to that. I let her out to forage in the playbox for a while and went back to bed once she was in her cage again. But no! Little madam wanted out again and wouldn't stop making a lot of noise. So i gave up on the lie in idea. I was sleepily videoing her and dropped seeds on the carpet by mistake. As soon as Lilly saw that she came rushing out of the digbox to hoover them up.

No keeping you waiting is there Lilly 😍 Nice of her to do the hoovering for you though!

I attached an acrylic panel to the inside of Lilly's cage ages ago to stop her from climbing. She tries to get herself noticed when she wants out, how could we not 🙄
Then she climbed up next to he door so i attached the green ramp on the inside with a cable tie which she simply shoved aside.

Since i wasn't allowed to sleep, why should the neighbours. I cut this small acrylic panel earlier to hopefully stop her from climbing. Problem is that she won't climb down and lets herself drop. It's not a big drop but no drop is still preferable.

The roof tube run has a dual purpose. For Lilly to run through and to eradicate the possibility of monkey barring.

There’s never a dull moment with Lilly is there, she’s certainly keeping you on your toes.
It is a problem with Russians, they’re pretty good at climbing up but no idea how to turn around & come down so they tend to just let go. Hope your solution works 🤞
